Release Notes - Premium Personal Accounts
Overview
Hi all. Premium User Accounts have been launched. User’s who choose to support Linkidex are able to save more things to their accounts. At the time of this writing I have set the limits to 2,000 links, 500 categories, 500 tags, 500 folders for premium users.

Users can now go to their account tab, and under the ‘Usage’ header click ‘click here to upgrade your account’ to be brought to Stripe. Stripe handles all of the subscription money management for Linkidex. For now, the only option is a monthly subscription. Users can cancel their subscription at any time by navigating back to the account tab and clicking ‘manage subscription’, which will bring them to the stripe subscription portal.

How I Choose These Limits
Long term I expect to be increasing these numbers but for my initial launch I want to make sure they are manageable no matter what. Linkidex hasn’t raised any money yet. I pay for all of the hosting costs out of pocket and if someone comes along and saves 15 billion links to Linkidex I’ll have to sell my Mazda to pay for my AWS bill. I have to set limits somewhere, and I would rather start low and increase them over time versus start too high.
My personal Linkidex account has 419 Links, 51 categories, and 43 tags. My hope is for the average person 2K will be plenty, and by the time its not I’ll have enough data to know what scales.
If 2,000 links isn’t enough for you and its a deciding factor for supporting Linkidex let me know. I can bump up limits on a per account basis and am happy to work with you if anything misbehaves.
As always, feel free to email me david@linkidex.com with questions / concerns / feedback.
